摘要：The invention relates to the repair of one-piece copper moulds 6 for thecontinuous casting of steel which have become unusable due to wear. The removal of theinner sides to the depth of the wear is known. However, as a result the mould (6)becomes thinner than before until, finally, it can no longer be used for thermal reasonsand for reasons of strength. The invention restores all the original dimensions of themould 6 by a process in which, first of all, the outer sides of the mould are coated withcopper, a mandrel defining the inside dimension 2 of the mould 6 is inserted into themould 6 and the latter is then drawn through a die so that its inner side rests against themandrel and its length increases 5, the inside dimension 2 and the outside dimension 1corresponding to the original dimensions. The mould is then shortened in length, thusreestablishing the length dimension as well.
