How to Become a Successful Speaker of English

Recently, there has been a discussion about the students’ spoken English level. Some students often say“My spoken English is poor.”or “Speaking English is very hard for me.”even many students who have gotten good mark in CET-4 or CET-6 find it difficult to communicate with others successfully in English.

There are many reasons accounting for the students’ poor situation in spoken English. For one thing, the students pay too much attention to their written English. For another, the students have a “negative thinking”,that is ,they worry that they won’t be able to speak as well as other people, so they feel inferior in their presence and dare not speak English out loudly.

Many a way can be adopted to solve this problem. The first thing you can do it to exercise speaking English with your good friends with whom you can speak freely without feeling shy. Try your ability with teachers and foreigners if possible. Thirdly, try to think in English and leave out mind translation. Fourthly, do more reading to expand vocabulary and learn to use the new words in your speech as much as possible. As long as you insist on there ways you will be able to become a successful speaker of English in the near future. 注释：
